Graston

Graston Technique® is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that effectively breaks down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Cupping Massage

Cupping is a therapy in which glass or plastic cups are suctioned onto the skin's surface, pulling the skin away from the underlying muscles. This allows blood vessels to expand and blood to flow more freely to the targeted area. According to experts, increased blood flow is believed to help the body recover faster. Cupping is also used by some as a form of pain relief. Patients who are offered cupping might be suffering from a muscle strain, or pain due to overuse.

Stagnant cupping is when a cup is placed over specific acupressure points and left for a few seconds or minutes.

Sliding cupping is when oil or lotion is first applied to the area being treated and the cup is moved around to manipulate the tissue.

Marks left from cupping may occur after a treatment. They can vary in pattern and colour (from light red to dark purple). It is referred to as bruising because of how it looks. This is normal and unlike bruises the marks are rarely sensitive to touch, unless there are large amounts of toxins being released. These bruises can last from 3 days to a week; sometimes longer.

Rapid Release Massage

RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (N.F.R.) is a newer movement based therapeutic technique that focuses on the central nervous systems in order to release tension and constraint within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. The Rapid Release Technique is designed to help break down the muscle and fascial adhesions.

Acupuncture and Massage Therapy

Alisha, is one of our massage therapists who also specializes in Western Medical Acupuncture, she offers a massage and acupuncture combo treatment. Alisha focuses on acupuncture for the musculoskeletal system.

What is Acupuncture? The nervous system is stimulated to encourage natural healing, reduce or relieve pain and improve mood or relax the individual by inserting a sterile needle into the skin.Needles are inserted into acupuncture points. Certain points correspond with certain ailments, conditions or causes of pain. For Example: a point between your thumb and index finger can address pain involving the head.
